We are revamping our website where all needed information will be within reach for you.  We hope to have it be fully active within two months.

An exciting development is the fact that IAJF and PACAN have joined forces to present programs in English about the history of Iran and the Jews. We encourage our young people to join us so that they are in tune with their past.

We are pleased to introduce to you Mr. Elliott Benjamin, Vice President in charge of the affairs of Jews of Iran. 

We welcome a new member of our team: Dr. Farshid Delshad,  our Scholastic Advisor. 

We are also introducing you to another one of our affiliates in this Newsletter: NA’AMAT (see below). We will be happy to share any community news in this newsletter.

Elliott Benjamin is a partner in the Real Estate Department at Ervin Cohen & Jessup LLP, where he practices transactional real estate law and assists client on matters including commercial and residential purchases, sales, financing, refinancing and leasing, as well as corporate general business transactions.

Elliott was born in Iran and grew up in London, England, where he graduated from Middlesex University with an LL.B and later attained an LL.M in International Banking Law from the Morin Center for Banking and Financial Law at Boston University before moving to Los Angeles, California.

Elliott has served on the Board of Directors and held various positions in a number of organizations, including the Jewish Federation Council of Greater Los Angeles and the Central British Fund – World Jewish Relief. Elliot was a former member of the Board of Directors of HIAS, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, where he worked on matters involving the rescue and resettlement of Jews and other religious minorities from Iran seeking refuge in the United States. Elliott has also been involved with the Iranian American Jewish Federation in various capacities since 1998.

Elliott has participated in a number of panel discussions and conferences relating to issues concerning Iranian religious minorities, including a conference hosted by Hebrew Union College, UCLA Hillel, and JIMENA. Elliott has also served as an expert witness in cases in which the United States Government sought the deportation of Iranian Jews back to Iran and was also a regular speaker at Milken Community High School in Los Angeles, where he addressed students on the conditions for Jews in Iran and the migration and resettlement of Iranian religions.
